With the power to hop backwards in time, Divi (codename: Rewind) is the perfect candidate in the fight against supervillains. But when she and her two friends join the superpowered task force, she discovers the powers-that-be are not who they seem to be.
In a dystopian world of superpowers, three young friends enlist in a super-powered task force to help fight supervillains. The trio is led by Divi, a young black woman with the power to jump backwards in time, nicknamed “Rewind.” Her power makes her the perfect spy – able to discover information and then erase the act of discovering it. But the truth she discovers isn’t what she expected: the government is the oppressor and the supervillains are the heroes.
The story is told to us by Divi, with a self-awareness and self-deprecating humor akin to Deadpool. But the dark side of her incredible powers soon unfolds: every time she goes back and changes something, her experience of the world drifts further from everyone else’s reality.
Her power reflects the mental health impacts of social media, where our social lives exist through curated digital personas. This isolation is exacerbated when she sides with the rebels and begins living a dual life.
The story was conceived as a trilogy, with enormous opportunity as a trans-media franchise that speaks directly to the unique struggles of Gen Z.
